Biography
Prof. Pham Huy Dung, DSc Prof. Pham Huy Dung is a Member of the University Council, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Director of the Thang Long Institute of Cognition and Education Studies (TICES) at Thang Long University, Hanoi. He worked at the Institute of Malaria and Parasitology, and taught at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand before joining Thang Long University; he also taught epidemiology at Hanoi Medical University, where a generation of Vietnamese public health researchers passed through his courses. Under his leadership, TICES pursues research on critical thinking, levels of cognition, cognitive and educational theory, and technology-based educational methods including artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain. Now in his nineties and still working daily, he is currently developing a research programme on the application of cold plasma to cancer treatment, and remains an active commentator on health and education policy in Vietnam.
