Dr. Tejal Barkhade is specializes in plasma science, nanotechnology, and microbiology, currently serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Life Sciences, Parul Institute of Applied Sciences, Parul University. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology and an integrated M.Phil-Ph.D. in Nanosciences from the Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, India. Following the completion of her doctorate in 2021, Dr. Barkhade worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) (2021-2024), Gandhinagar, India where she gained advanced experience in plasma-based microbial inactivation, infection control technologies, and plasma–nano-bio interactions. Her work at IPR significantly strengthened her interdisciplinary expertise at the interface of plasma physics, nanoscience, and biological systems. Dr. Barkhade has published multiple peer-reviewed research articles in reputed Q1 international journals in the areas of nanotoxicology, plasma sterilization & processing, and nano–bio interfaces. She is also the co-inventor of a patented plasma sterilization technology, contributing to translational research with direct relevance to healthcare and environmental safety. Since joining Parul University (on 25th November 2024), she has been actively involved in developing and expanding application-oriented plasma and nano technologies for healthcare and agricultural sectors, including microbial decontamination, surface sterilization, seed treatment, and water purification systems.
