Biography
Lakshminarayana Rao received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 2007, for his thesis on the development of superior plasma torch electrodes. He is currently working as an Associate Professor with the Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. He is a chemical engineer by training. He has over fifteen years of industrial experience working in the field of plasma technology. Over the past 20 years, he has worked in various areas of plasma research, developing technologies in both thermal and non-thermal plasmas. He has worked in various aspects of plasma technology development, starting from concept building to commercial products. He is currently working on the generation and characterization of plasma-activated water and the applications of plasma-activated water in different areas, like medicine and agriculture. He has six granted U.S. patents and authored or co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed international journal articles, 50 conference proceedings, and two book chapters.
