Biography
He currently serves as a researcher at the Plasma Bio-Science Research Center (PBRC), Kwangwoon University, Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1990. Over approximately 20 years, he led plasma source and process development at leading companies including ULVAC, Samsung, and SK Hynix, with several technologies currently deployed in the display and semiconductor industries. At the PBRC, he is investigating atmospheric pressure plasma chemistry and the application of nitric oxide (NO) plasma-activated water to horticultural crops. In particular, NO water has demonstrated effectiveness in enhancing metabolic activity, bacterial resistance, and overall plant growth. Through this research, he aims to publish high-impact papers and develop bioscience and technologies that drive innovation across agriculture, food science, and related industries.
