Biography
Dr. Vikas Rathore is an Assistant Professor at the Center of Excellence in Plasma Science and Electromagnetic Waves at Walailak University, Thailand. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the Institute for Plasma Research (Homi Bhabha National Institute, India) in 2023. He subsequently continued this line of work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Plasma Research, India.
Dr. Rathore’s research interests encompass a broad range of plasma applications, including plasma–liquid interactions, plasma medicine, plasma agriculture, plasma food technology, wastewater treatment, and plasma-based fertilizers, energy generation, material synthesis, etc. He has published more than 38 peer-reviewed articles in reputed international journals and authored two book chapters. He is also an inventor on two patents related to plasma technologies, with several of his innovations successfully transferred to four industries for real-world applications. In addition, he serves as a mentor and technology advisor to multiple companies working in plasma-based solutions for agriculture, food preservation, and wastewater management, etc.
He has presented his research at numerous international conferences worldwide, delivering invited talks and keynote lectures, and has received several presentation awards. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the U30 Scientist (Mima) Award (AAPPS-DPP 2025) and the J. B. Joshi Research Foundation Innovation Award (2024). Dr. Rathore also actively contributes to the scientific community as an associate editor for two journals and as a reviewer for over 78 high-impact journals, having reviewed more than 250 manuscripts
